Nate's Birthday

Is it weird that I feel old even on Nate's birthday? I guess I am just always blown away at how fast time flies. He loves cookies and anything chocolate, so his "cake" is made up of a huge, thick, round chocolate chip cookie on the bottom, cookie dough ice cream, and crumbled cookies and chocolate on top. It was a little too much 'cookie' for me, but he liked it!

Isaac's Birthday Party

Isaac had some of his friends over for a train party when he turned 3! He actually had a blast and loved all the attention, and he had been looking forward to it for a while beforehand. We used black tape for a railroad track on the floor, and got all of Isaac's trains out for the kids to play with. The kids also decorated their little cardboard "train" to use on the railroad tracks and to take home. For lunch we had pizza - Isaac's favorite. I sometimes feel bad since his birthday is on Christmas, but when it actually rolls around, he pretty much gets a week long celebration because everyone tries to overcompensate! So the poor kid is not so poor after all :)

Merry Christmas

I don't have a ton of pictures from Christmas.. Somehow I forget to take pictures in
the midst of all the excitement. Therefore, here are some from around Christmas time.

Family Pictures

I love getting family pictures done! I take that back actually.. I love getting the pictures afterwards, the actual taking of pictures is not super fun. I just love seeing great pictures of our boys that we can keep forever. My awesome friend took these for us, so if you need a photographer, I know a good one :)

Football, Halloween, and a Cruise

Our first attempt at a U of A football game together. They did well until half time, then it was time to go, but it was pretty fun. They mostly just liked the fireworks at the beginning of the game.

Isaac said he wanted to be a dinosaur for Halloween, so I made him and Luke costumes. I figured they could play in the costumes for years, so putting in the time and effort to make them was worth it! So I made them each a tail, which they loved, and a jacket to go with their tails. The tails are perfect for them, they are filled with stuffing so they can ram into things without hurting anyone or breaking anything! Plus, they actually still where them about once a week, so like I said - well worth it! Luke would not wear his costume on Halloween though, so he went trick or treating without a costume. Of course, a month later, he loves wearing it!

We also went on a cruise for our 5th anniversary! Which is November 2nd. It was my first time away from the boys, and I did miss them, but it was so nice to just enjoy each other's company and relax.

And recently, one of the malls near by brought in 32 tons of snow to play in - so of course us Tucsonans had to be there for snow! Isaac actually loved it. Luke got hit in the face with a snowball, so - I think he is afraid of snow :) Hopefully he'll forget all about it the next time we get a chance to play in the snow.

Picture Post

First of all, I am so excited to be getting a temple!! I always knew the day would come, but I still couldn't believe it when I heard it.

In other news, we went to visit some friends recently, and went apple picking - which was fun!.. but a little bit hot at the time. I guess I should stop complaining about how hot it is, I live in Arizona. Apple trees are really pretty and obviously useful, I would love to have one someday. Luke is terrible when we try to take his picture, that's why there are more of Isaac (in my defense).

While we collect apples, they collect rocks, yum!

Labor Day

So, we had a fun labor day - we went to the Zoo, it was the first time we had been for a while because of the heat. It was still over 100 degrees, but we went to the splash pad afterwards.

They have this indoor part of the zoo that has snakes and lizards and.... roaches! I don't know if I just never noticed this display before, or if its new, but it was gross! It's a blurry picture but you can see the roach behind and to the right of Luke. And there's over 200 of them in the tiny display :) I don't do well with big bugs.

Then we went to the splash pad, which was perfect because of the hot day!

We planted a garden in the spring, and we have been enjoying the fruits of our labor :)
